My Queen City Underground Tour

I had a very great time taking this tour! I thought that everything we saw was very interesting and fun to learn about. My favorite part of the tours was going in the tunnels and the tenement houses. It was fun walk around the city and see all the old German things.
The tenement houses were sort of e size of a one room apartment, that had two rooms for you and your ten closest family members. There is no toilet or bath/shower, so you would have to pay 5 cents to go to the bathroom, 8 cents to get someone's used bath water and 10 cents to get new bath water. So most people could only bath two times a year!
Going underground to the tunnels was a great experience. It was very dusty down there, and hard to breath, but it was warm. We got to see a big pile of garbage where people had thrown down their trash down there. Sometimes we could see ramps the old workers used to roll barrels of beer down.
Charity told us about a couple at preformed in an old wear house, and the man would shot an apple off the woman's head. She secretly wore a steal band under her head band so she wouldn't get hurt. On a day of the show, she forgot to bring her steal band, but the couple thought the show had to go on. The woman tied on her hand band and the man raised the gun. The man missed for the first time in his life, and shot her square between the eyes. The crowd that was watching tried to hang the man from a pole on vine street.
There was a church we got to see that was built on top of an old graveyard. Before building the church, they contacted the families and said to come claim the bodies. 70 bodies were never claimed, and 30 didn't have the money.

In the middle of it

The zip lines in Gatlinburg were amazing. Hope and I were with one other family, and one of them was afraid of heights. It was funny. Then it was really annoying . She did get through the whole course, but at the end there was a straight down one story drop, she backed out and took the stairs. The drop made you feel like you were falling to your death. At the bottom there were mountain goats, and Hope and I almost got lost because we wanted to pet them.
The chair lift was an almost vertical lift up the side of a mountain with a little piece of fabric to hold us in place. I was freaked out, and Hope thought it was fun to swing the chair when we were going up, and I was hanging on for dear life. At the top, they had cut out a little cave that was a gift shop. We loved it up there and bought all the gifts for family members up there. On the way down, there was a ton of stuff lost on the ground. The funniest thing was a designer Coach with everything still in it.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee

I just went to Gatlinburg with my best friend, Hope Handelsman. Sarah, (Hopes sister) was going to come as well, but something came up and she couldn't make it. We drove early in the morning and only stopped a couple of times. The car ride there was... Different. We had forgotten to pack anything to do in the car, so we did some really random stuff and tried to film the other person doing it.
We had to stop at Walmart once because my mom had forgotten her hair curler, and we had to stock up on food for the hotel. We had been constantly listening to Sail on Hopes iPhone and I spotted a display of pool noddles.I grabbed one and screamed, "SAIL!" Hit Hope on the head with it, them ran in the other direction. We continued to chase each other with noodles until my mom yelled at us. We ended up buying the noodles, but someone stole them but we didn't care because there pool noodles.
The first thing I remember seeing was the old-timey photo shop. It was where you could put on clothes from the 1800's and take some awesome pictures. No one wanted to  take the pictures except myself, so I was disappointed. A couple of days later, we were all waiting on a train, and so we decided we could go look around. I convinced everyone to take a few pictures, and finally they agreed. So Hope and I started trying on everything.
At first we thought the Southern Belle outfit looked the best with all the fun colors and frilly dresses, until we saw the saloon girl outfit. We quickly changed I to that and the lady taking our pictures said to go sit on top of the bar. She came over with fake guns, and money bags. She spilt the props between us, and we looked amazing!
My favorite part of taking the pictures was when the lady told us not to smile, so I stopped and she started taking more pictures until she put her camera down and stared at Hope. I looked over at her and she had tears going down her face from smiling and laughing so hard.  Suddenly everyone in the shop was laughing and crying all at once, and Hopes hat fell of her head and I dropped my guns... Twice! I had such a great time and our pictures turned out great.

The Loveland Castle

My friends and I went to Loveland castle a couple days ago, so I'm going to write about it!

The idea for the castle was started by a group of people called The Knights Of The Golden Trail. Today they are still keeping the castle in shape. None of them new what was to come of this though. Some people were selling land and a knight, Harry Andrews, bought some of it. He was getting older and he was bored, he didn't think his life was very interesting. So one day he woke up and decided to build a castle. He did this successfully with almost no help from volunteers. Harry laid almost 4 million stones! When the castle was being built, people would brings things from all over the world so Harry could put them in the building. (Such as petrified wood, gold, diamonds, and even a meteorite!) The castle had almost 15 thousand visits in Harry life time. Today the castle is 87 years old.

I had a great time learning and visiting the castle. Thanks a lot to Sir Larry!! I got to see the inside, the garden, and the river where Harry collected the stones!

The Loveland Castle

Hey bloggers! My friends and I are going to the Loveland castle next week! I'm very excited and hope everything goes smoothly and that we have a great time. We are going to meet The Knights of the Golden Trail, real descendants of the original man who built the castle by himself. (He had a little help from friends) I want you to know that I promise I will be posting my first short story soon, I did it yesterday but my iPad acted up and deleted itself... So yeah.
